Tour Overview
This 11-day cross-border safari is the most comprehensive primate and wildlife experience in East Africa — combining the very best of Uganda and Rwanda into one seamless, expertly guided adventure. Beginning in Uganda, you'll track chimpanzees in Kibale Forest (home to the highest density of primates in Africa), game drive across Queen Elizabeth National Park for tree-climbing lions and the famous Kazinga Channel boat safari, and trek to mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Crossing into Rwanda, you'll encounter a second mountain gorilla family in Volcanoes National Park — a completely different habitat and experience — before hiking to Dian Fossey's legendary Karisoke Research Center. The journey concludes in Nyungwe Forest National Park for chimpanzee tracking and the iconic 70-metre suspension canopy walk above one of Africa's oldest rainforests.
With an optional Akagera Big Five game drive on the final day, this is the definitive East Africa safari for travellers who want to experience the full spectrum of the region's extraordinary wildlife.
