Tour Overview
This is Rwanda's most comprehensive safari experience — a 10-day journey through all four of the country's extraordinary national parks. Beginning in the vibrant capital Kigali, you'll descend into the ancient montane rainforest of Nyungwe for chimpanzee trekking and the iconic 70-metre canopy walk, before heading north to Gishwati-Mukura for the rare and striking golden monkey.
The journey continues to the mist-shrouded Virunga volcanoes for the centrepiece of any Rwanda safari — an intimate, permit-limited hour with a wild mountain gorilla family in Volcanoes National Park, home of Dian Fossey's legendary Karisoke Research Center. A historic hike to her gravesite on the slopes of Mount Bisoke is included.
The final act takes you east to Akagera National Park — Rwanda's only savannah park and a National Geographic Best of the World destination — for a full-day Big Five safari including the recently reintroduced black rhino, a sunset boat cruise on Lake Ihema, and a farewell to Rwanda's golden plains before returning to Kigali.
